“Sorry pancreas. Sorry liver. Sorry heart, for what you are about to receive, but just know that I am truly thankful. Amen” said Francis as we left this morning.
We drove 30 minutes from our home in the Dandenong Ranges to the Dandenong Market Street Food Tour. Thank you Helen for this cultural culinary birthday gift 🎁.
So many flavours, colours, smells, ethnicities, joyful faces, rows of fruit veggies, herbs, spices. Amazing. Our tour guide, Tim Hollands, provided great insight into what to buy where, nationality mixes, and how to wait at a stall for the wife, to get a larger serving than from the husband.
Later, we dropped by Bunnings (to buy some lacquer for bed slats – that’s a whole other story). We grabbed a sausage in bread. Nice enough, but it would be so boring to only have monoculture food and experiences.
Charging
Back home, we plugged into the wall, like we do most days. We don’t have to think about it. Meanwhile, the system charges the car from our own free solar and sometimes cheap renewables in the grid. It won’t charge after 4pm during high demand, grid coal and gas and therefore high wholesale price.
Tesla Superchargers are a block away from Dandenong Market. Bunnings has a couple of fast chargers we could have used to fill up while shopping and eating snags, but it’s cheaper at home.
